Day 1 :

Arrival in Avignon, in the heart of Provence.

Private transferfrom Avignon TGV station to your hotel. Check in. Dinner on your own and accommodation in a 3*** or 4**** hotel in Avignon center.

Day 2 : ORANGE & CHÂTEAUNEUF DU PAPE

9.00 am : pick up at the hotel by a private vehicle and a friendly English speaking driver/ licensed guide.

Visit and wine-tasting in a Châteauin Piolenc where the Bernard family has lived since the middle of the 17th century. In 1971, the business was inherited by Michel Bernard, who now runs the vineyard with his wife and daughter, Dominique and Amandine. The 18th century chateau, adjoining a 12th century farm, provides the ideal conditions and environment in its vaulted cellars, for the wines to age gracefully in French oak barrels.

 

Lunch on your own.

Visit the Roman theatrein Orange, one of the best preserved from the Roman civilization : it has kept its stage wall almost intact.

Driving tour in the vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and stop for panoramic view of the Rhône valley at the Castle ofChâteauneuf-du-Pape.

Visit and wine-tasting in a Domainein Châteauneuf du Pape : guided visit of the winemaking, the ageing and stocking cellars, followed by a tasting of a Chateauneuf-du-Pape white and red wine.

6.00 pm : back to the hotel.

Dinner on your own and accommodation at the hotel.

 

Day 3 : DENTELLES DE MONTMIRAIL

9.00 am : pick up at the hotel by a private vehicle and a friendly English speaking driver/ licensed guide.

Enjoy an intimate cooking classin  Sablet, to explore the fundamentals of Mediterranean cooking, marrying flavours, utilizing the best foods from the markets, respecting the great French traditions. Lunch(without drinks).

Visit and wine-tasting in a Domaine in Séguret,tucked away in a secluded valley to the North of the Dentelles de Montmirail, above the picturesque village of Séguret. As well as the obvious attraction of their wines Cotes du Rhone villages, their beautifully situated vineyard is worth a visit for its views alone.

6.00 pm : back to the hotel.

Dinner on your own and accommodation at the hotel.

 

Day 4 : VENTOUX & GIGONDAS

9.00 am : pick up at the hotel by a private vehicle and a friendly English speaking driver/ licensed guide.

Visit and wine-tasting in a Castlein Mormoiron, a family-run vineyard in the south of the Rhône Valley on the Côtes du Ventoux appellation that operates on the principles of sustainable agriculture.

Picnic lunch in the wine estate (drinks included).

Continue to Gigondasfor visit and wine-tasting in a cellar: Gigondas wines are considered as Cru of the Southern Côtes du Rhône valley. The village is located at the foot of the hillrange called ‘Dentelles de Montmirail’.

6.00 pm : back to the hotel.

Farewell dinner (without drinks) in a restaurant and accommodation at the hotel.

DAY 5 :

Transfer back to Avignon TGV station. End of our services.

Day 1 : Tuesday



Pick up in Avignon TGV Station and transfer to the hotel (time to be advised).

Day at leisure.

Accommodation in your 4**** hotel located in Avignon center.
 

Day 2 : Wednesday

Morning at leisure for a self visit of Avignon : entrance fee included for the Popes' Palace and the Pont d'Avignon (English hearphone in both monuments).

Lunch on your own

Regular afternoon-tour from your hotel  to Nîmes for the visit of the Roman amphitheatre and a look at the temple Maison Carree. Continue to the medieval town of Uzès and admire the fabulous site of the Pont du Gard, best preserved part of the Roman aqueduct.unch on your own.Back to the hotel for dinner on your own and accommodation in Avignon center.

 

Day 3 :Thursday

pick up at your hotel.

Regular full-day tour to discover the most beautiful monuments and sites of Provence.

Orangeand Châteauneuf-du-Pape : Triumphal Arch, Antique Theatre (entrance ticket and audioguide included). Discovery of vineyards and wine-tasting included in a cellar.

Visit Arles, famous for its Roman heritage and for the sites painted and frequented by Van Gogh in 1888 and les Baux de Provence, village set upon a rock at 245 meters high.

Stop at the Antiques ofSaint Rémy de Provence (Triumphal Arch and Funerary Monument) among olive trees, landscape painted several times by Van Gogh.

Back to the hotel for dinner on your own and accommodation in Avignon center.

Day 4 : Friday

Pick up at your hotel.


Regular half-day tour to the Luberon regional park, a region full of charm, known for its beautiful countryside and picturesque hill-top villages.

Roussillonis famous for its red and yellow ochre cliffs, unusual natural landscape.

Gordes, perched village in Luberon, one of «the most beautiful villages in France», is entirely built with dry stones.

Visit of the LavenderMuseum to discover the flower symbol of Provence. Back to the hotel and take your luggage.

Departure by private minibus with an English speaking guide for a tour/transfer from Avignon to Marseille including a guided tour of Aix en Provence. Discover the Cours Mirabeau, Rotonde, fountains and private mansions from the 17th and 18th centuries, Cathedral Saint Sauveur and sites frequented by the famous painter Paul Cezanne.

Check in at your 4**** hotel in Marseille center.

Dinner on your own and accommodation.

Day 5 : Saturday

Meet your guide and enjoy a regular half-day tour to Cassis.

Admire the breathtaking view from the Cape Canaille, the highest maritime cliff in Europe. Take a 45- minute cruise in the calanques, limestone cliffs diving in the clear blue water of the Mediterranean sea.

Panoramic tour of the city of Marseille on the way back, including a photo stop at Notre-Dame de la Garde basilica. From this hill, enjoy an breathtaking view on the Phocean city, the Frioul islands and If Castle. Drive on the Corniche Road, a symbol of holiday and outward sign of wealth for merchants and bourgeois from the 19th century who built magnificent houses with many ostentatious splendid features. You will then reach Saint-Victor abbey (11th century) that keeps the entry of the Vieux-Port (Old Port).

Day 6 : Sunday

Private transfer from your hotel to Marseille airport.
