There are seven entrance doors to the city; two of them have only a monumental function: Porta d'Augusto and Porta San Pietro.
Once in Perugia, you shouldn’t miss a visit to: the Palazzo dell’Universita’ Vecchia, the Palazzo del Capitano, the Palazzo dei Priori, the complex of San Francis, theOratory of San Bernardino, the Cathedral, the Fontana Maggiore, the Etruscan Well and many other churches and ancient monuments.
Another must-see is the Fortress including the oldest part of the city, a Pompei-like medieval city that was discovered thanks to some archeological digs.
Perugia is also famous for some important events, like the Eurochocolate, an annual chocolate festival that takes place for 9 days, and the Umbria Jazz Festival, one of the most prominent jazz festivals in Europe.
