Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and it is also surrounded by many small islands that make it much more enticing. Sicily is considered the ideal destination for those who want to spend their holidays at the beach, thanks to its crystal-clear waters.

The seven Eolian islands (Alicudi, Filicudi, Lipari, Vulcano, Salina, Panarea e Stromboli) are probably the most famous destinations in Sicily thanks to their beaches, grottoes, bays and charming stacks emerging from the sea.

Agrigento with its Valle Dei Templi is rich in beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters and it is the favourite destination for those who love diving due to its amazing sealife

The Pelagian Islands (Lampedusa, Linosa e Lampione) offer breathtaking scenaries to all their visitors.

Siracusa with its gulf and natural port shows itself and its long history through its Greek Theatre and its cathacombs. Worth mentioning are its amazing white beaches in Fontana Bianca. 

Catania and its coast offer beautiful beaches and its marine parks, like the Simeto Delta which is famous for its natural lakes and it is also a protected parks for the migrating birds.

Trapani is famous for its salt productions and for the “Processione dei Misteri” an important element of the city’s history and local culture.

San Vito lo Capo is a beatiful maritime destination, famous for its medieval town and the archaelogical park of Segesta. It also has a breathtaking beach and cristal clear waters in a bay protected by the mountains.

The Zingaro natural park and the mount Cofano located just behind the city are very significant to this region.

The Mount Cofano is located just behind the city and it’s rich in caves with a great archeological value thanks to the paleolitic graffiti that can be found on its walls.

Other extraordinary natural landmarks are the Famous Egadi islands, located in the area of Trapani.

Worth mentioning are the beaches that can be found on the island of Pantelleria,  whose irregular coasts are rich with caves and promontories from where you can admire a breathtaking view on the sea.

Marsala is famous for its wine, liquor and the Duomo.

Then surrounded by the perfume of the sea and the typical smell of the many lemon trees lies Mondello, another sea resort protected by the Monte Pellegrino and Monte Gallo. Between these two mounts we find the famous bay that made the city of Mondello so famous.

Cefalù is renouned for its Norman Cathedral and its many mosaics.

The coast that lies around Palermo is rich in colours from the turquoise of the its waters to the gold of its beaches. Here you can not help but stop and visit the archeological area called Rocca

Messina and its Saracenic coast, Capo Orlando and Taormina and Giardini Naxos with its beautiful beaches and its light sand and still waters are all must see.

Milazzo, also known as the queen of the sea, is famous for its ancient Duomo and medieval borgo. Here you can admire a breathtaking view, from the deep blue of the sea to the green of the promontory of Capo Milazzo.

 

Sicily is an island that welcomes its visitors with welcoming people, good food and crystal-clear sea waters.
